Crested Butte
Ten years ago, the idea of a fat bike world championship race was born in Crested Butte, Colorado. Since then we’ve been to Pinedale, Wyoming, New Richmond, Wisconsin and Leadville, Colorado. This year we are back in Crested Butte and ready to race again in the shadow of the Butte!

The 2025 Borealis Fat Bike Worlds returns to Crested Butte January 24-26th, 2025.
Ten years ago, the idea of a fat bike world championship race was born in Crested Butte, Colorado. Since then we’ve been to Pinedale, Wyoming, New Richmond, Wisconsin and Leadville, Colorado. This year we are back in Crested Butte and ready to race again in the shadow of the Butte!
We kick off this anniversary year on Friday, January 24th, with a welcome party up at the Elevation Hotel with PBRs provided to participants and a full menu available from Jose restaurant to purchase, along with music from the incomparable Wiley Jones!
Saturday, our Championship Race will be 5 laps, while the fun race will be 3 laps. Championship Race finishers receive a retro FBW leather flask. Free Zuni beer for all racers and participants.
After the race on Saturday we will have an awards party at.
