Stop & Shop Supermarket acquired the Stratton grocery store in August, 2014.
Stop & Shop Supermarket was started in 1946 by brothers, Pat & Merl Ford in Vona, CO. Pat moved to Flagler in 1951 and went into business with his brother-in-law, Dale Walker. In 1963 Dale was bought out and moved to Limon to later buy what was known as Limon Super Foods. In 1975 Pat retired and sold to his son Tony Ford.
